The main function of the specialised library of the Musée d'Anthropologie préhistorique de Monaco is to conserve and make available for consultation (e.g. international researchers, scientists and students) publications relating to research in Prehistory-Archaeology.

It currently holds a valuable collection of international monographs, symposium and congress proceedings, scientific publications, periodicals, journals and magazines on scientific research (French and foreign), geology, speleology, archaeology and prehistory, as well as periodicals and magazines on cultural events in Monaco.

A book exchange system has been set up with libraries, universities, laboratories and associations. The M.A.P. welcomes students and trainees interested in research, communication/mediation and archives.
